Youth

The mission of youth ministries within St. Matthias UMC is to lead youth to a genuine and passionate faith in Jesus Christ, to encourage them to grow as lifelong disciples, to equip them with tools to live a life reflecting their choice to serve God, and to support them in ministering to others.

In order to accomplish this, we have many opportunities for youth:

High School and Middle School Sunday School Classes: Sunday mornings at 9:45 AM in the Youth Room.

St. Matthias United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF/Youth Group) Youth Group includes students from 6th through 12th grade. They meet on Sunday evenings from 6:30-8 :30 PM in the Youth Room. The focus of Youth Group is Christian fellowship, service, worship and relevant Bible study.

Throughout the year the Youth Group participates in sports activities, fund raisers, mission trips, concerts, spiritual retreats, mentoring, small book talk groups and many other Christian and community based outreach programs.  Newcomers and friends are always welcome!

Please check the Youth Group Calendar for upcoming events. Contact Erin Wetzel, our Youth Director, for information:  email.  Find us on Facebook at this link.

Confirmation: A confirmation class is offered in the spring for students 6th grade and older. This class offers students an opportunity to explore Methodist history and heritage, increase their understanding of the Sacraments, learn more about their spiritual gifts and explore topics such as the Trinity, the Bible, prayer, forgiveness, sin and salvation.
